The prosecutor's office apologized to Kvachkov, who was acquitted in the case of the attempted assassination of Anatoly Chubais.
Officer’s lawyer Oksana Mikhalkina reported that on January 24, representatives of the prosecutor’s office sent Kvachkov’s official apology to the detention center, which was signed by the deputy prosecutor of the Moscow Region.
Kvachkov filed a claim in the Moscow Regional Court, in which he requested that the prosecutor's office be required to apologize to him for criminal prosecution, which was illegal.
The lawyer also noted that Kvachkov does not intend to abandon his demands, including the demand for an apology from the prosecutor’s office through the media.
At the trial, which began in the Moscow Regional Court, Kvachkova was escorted by a special-purpose group armed with machine guns. The process was attended by the spouse and supporters of the officer who came to support him.
The next meeting on this case will be 10 February. Protection Kvachkova, as previously reported, is preparing a lawsuit demanding payment of material compensation.
Also, Kvachkova’s defense explained that, according to the norms of the European Union, for each day of unlawful stay in the SIZO, material compensation, which is at least 30 euros, must be paid. In the case of the colonel, the amount of compensation will be 50 -70 thousand euros.
To date, Colonel Kvachkov accused of attempting a coup. The investigation of this criminal case has already been completed, Kvachkov was charged under the articles "attempt to organize an armed insurrection" and "assistance to terrorist activities".
Currently, Colonel’s lawyers are studying the criminal case file. After getting acquainted with the materials, they will be handed over to the prosecutor's office, where the indictment will be confirmed. The materials will be transferred from the prosecutor's office to the court, where they will be examined on the merits.
Colonel does not recognize his guilt. Earlier, the jury of the Moscow Regional Court twice acquitted the officer in the case of the attempted assassination of Anatoly Chubais, the former head of RAO UES. 22 December 2010, by the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, the acquittal of Colonel Kvachkov was declared lawful.
Information
