Media: The Syrian army repelled the IG barracks in the area of the airbase Tias near Palmyra

100
Syrian sources spread the message that government forces launched several effective attacks on the positions of ISIS terrorists (prohibited in the Russian Federation) in the area of the T-4 airbase (Tiass) west of Tadmor (Palmyra). As a result of successful actions, a few hours after repelling the igilov attack, the Syrian army launched a counter-offensive and beat off all the key heights in the area of the airbase.

It is known that the militants launched an attack on Tiias air base from two directions over the past two days.

RIA News Citing Syrian sources, reports that Syrian troops managed to return to their control the barracks in the vicinity of Palmyra. The speech, apparently, is about a military facility, the reports about the capture of which were spread the day before by igilovtsy in their own social network accounts.

Against this background, tragic comedy continues to be played out in the western theater of the absurd. Paris Mayor Ann Hidalgo announced that tonight the Eiffel Tower will plunge into darkness "in protest against the events in Aleppo."

Hidalgo:
The purpose of this symbolic measure in relation to the monument, which is being paid to all over the world, is to once again urge the international community to take urgent action (in Aleppo).

The amazing juggling of the facts is that before the verbal attack by the mayor of Paris, the Eiffel Tower employees themselves stated that they were preparing to turn off the illumination not at all in connection with Aleppo, but in connection with the strike directed against the authorities in connection with deteriorating working conditions.

By the way, the “protest against the events in Aleppo” speaks of the mayor of the city, who recently has repeatedly become the target of international terrorists - those against whom Russia and Syria are making joint efforts in Aleppo. Ms. Hidalgo’s cynicism knows no bounds ...

In this regard, I propose to recall how Russia sympathized with the French after the famous attacks, and never do it again! Still not appreciated. It is only appropriate to treat such countries with contempt. They love it! They invite (Arabs) to themselves! And whoever is kind to them throws those at police stations (our fans)!

Do you seriously think that European politicians are significantly dumber than you?
Obama may be kicked out, and the American elite will remain in place. American interests will remain the same. Obama for his presidency has changed something significantly in American foreign policy? Do you think Trump will change?

Come on, in Europe, the pendulum has also gone the other way. And, with the apology of politics, of that generation and warehouse, on a purely domestic level, they are already provoking very vomiting reactions among even quite liberal and Russophobic inhabitants.
This is truly agony, even if Obama tries to overwhelm Trump. And it’s more likely to accelerate the collapse of the current regime.

Assadu cannot cope without Mobilization and Discipline!

Assad explains the position of the government as follows:
“We now have partial mobilization. Why partial? Because general mobilization means that everyone should go to war. This means no students, no teachers at universities, no teachers at schools, no workers at factories, no builders and drivers, and absolutely everyone should work only for the government. Everything will become part of the war.
"The Syrian leader calls the essence of the conflict the desire of the United States to preserve hegemony in the world threatened by any sovereign country."
This is normal when a war lasts several weeks or several months, but for a war that has been going on for six years, this means paralysis of the society and paralysis of the country. You cannot win a war with a paralyzed society. And so you must have a balance between war and the basic needs of society: universities, hospitals, social services. That is why, from our point of view, this balance is vital. ”

In general, Asadn somehow indistinctly answered - why healthy men are engaged in incomprehensibly what, when the country is at war to the last bullet? The same white and red during the years of the Civil War were engaged in mobilization. In the Second World War in the USSR, almost all men went to the front, and even women. But Assad is all - students, cafes, teachers ..

By the fact that in many ways this war is civil and the citizens of one country are fighting in it, many of whom were familiar and were friends of families before the war.
From here there is no mass extermination of militants, because many of them were not only neighbors, but also consisted of clans (tribes).
        Everything is complicated there.

A "witness", you must understand directly from the General Staff, knows the number, armament, number of attackers in different directions and who is armed with what. But he does not know that a 10 ton tank of explosives will not fit. And if you look at the map, then his beards suddenly appear from different directions, and around the desert ... however, teleportation. And on the facts, lies and crap.

Well, it may not be more visible to me, but do you know how a dreamer differs from a liar? The dreamer operates with allegories and abstractions, and a liar with numbers. That is, the version of the dreamer can not be discussed, because nobody needs it, except for the psychiatrist to prescribe the right treatment, and we pull the liar by the tongue and catch on the numbers. Well, no one pulled a brave Arab woman by the tongue, he burned himself. hi

At Kassad, a translation of the participant in the battle for Palmyra of a Syrian army soldier Omar Dirmama is given, recorded by Iyad Al-Hussein. Posted on Facebook by Suleeman Shahin.
    Leaves a rather conflicting feeling.
    1. Yes, defense forces were comparable to attack forces.
    2. But even the vaunted Tigers left their positions.
    3. Our intelligence warned of the concentration of the bearded.
    4. Bearded cunning and treacherous fighters, but their tactics are quite straightforward, although effective in this case.
    5. Those of the Syrians who remained in position and died, or retreated with battles, accomplished a feat.

    From Roman Saponkov
Heavy text. What conclusions can be drawn from this?

By the beginning of the assault, the Syrians had 3650 fighters (11th, 18th division, Al-Badiya unknown to me with units of Al-Sayim, Zanubiya, Heart of Syria, detachments of Al-Sheikh Suleiman, Al-Faminiyun "," Military Security Shield "), plus the forces of the military police, Mukhabarat and an unknown number of troops of the Russian contingent, which had a stationary base in Palmyra, including UAV means, light armored vehicles, anti-tank weapons and arsenals. The 11th and 18th divisions were armed with 6 M-46 guns, 6 D-30 howitzers, 7 Gradov and 12 tanks.

After the start of the assault (between 8:00 and 10:00 on December 10), the suicide bombing and the first casualties in the morning, 18 divisions, the Military Security Shield and 1200 Al-Faminiyun men, withdrew from their positions. The retreat of the 18th division and the rest began with the retreat of Al-Faminiyun. Moreover, the 11th division moved to the city and prepared for defense. It can be assumed that almost half of the garrison withdrew from the position. The militants hit in the forehead from the east, and then began to hit the flanks, i.e. from the south-west, trying to capture the key height of At-Tar. After the start of the At-Tar assault at around 11.00 a.m. on December 10, about 250 out of 500 people from the Tigers left it, motivating their departure with a delay of 5 months. The assault on December 10 at a key height did not lead the militants to success. Despite the departure of half of the Tigers, the remaining 250 Tigers, plus units of 11 divisions, held the defenses.
The tactics of the militants was typical - to bring large-caliber machine guns and anti-aircraft guns to direct fire in order to crush the infantry, preventing it from popping out. Mortars and "infernal cannons" to throw already in the perimeter of defense, not giving the opportunity to hide behind the embankments. If there is a tank, roll out on direct fire and break through the gaps in the defense. If there is a suicide bomber, he comes forward under the cover of fire. After a fire raid, assault groups are introduced into the battle. The attached video is just the final stage of such an operation. Judging by the relief, just southwest of Palmyra. The author points out that on the 10th, a number of points on At-Tar were lost. The shot is just the 10th.

It should be noted that the militants attacked at a key altitude of At-Tar with the support of 4 tanks. The defenders of the heights were not like tanks, not even anti-tank weapons. Those. it turns out that they basically fought back with their bare hands, until by the morning of December 11 they all died. The cherry on the cake was the retreat of the Russian contingent from Palmyra around 17:00 on December 10. After that, an order was received to evacuate the city.

At night, the enemy leaked into residential areas, which could not be blocked due to lack of personnel. Moreover, the enemy mixed with the Syrian army, disguised as the Syrian army. In the morning, saboteurs added confusion, starting point-blank to shoot the army and civilians in the north and northeast of the city. There is evidence that in the same way the enemy leaked into the green in the south-west of the city. Judging by the records, in the morning the city was already empty, the height of At-Thar fell along with the defenders. Part of the Syrian troops, including the command, escaped from the boiler with the support of Russian helicopters.
Interestingly, there is no mention of the legendary shelling almost by “Caliber”. Perhaps the heavy fire of Russian aviation on the militants took place only on Twitter of the Ministry of Defense.

One thing is clear - the impressive garrison in Palmyra was left - more than 3,5 thousand people per defense perimeter of 15 to 15 kilometers are more than enough. Palmira was stormed not by 300 fighters, but by far more, competently probing the defense starting at least December 8th. The blow was struck from all sides, the most powerful from the east and southwest of the city. Also, reports that the Syrian troops fled, leaving the city to their fate, do not quite correspond to the truth. Some of the troops really fled, but half of the garrison defended the city to the last. It is not entirely correct to blame the Syrians for the flight against the background of the retreat of the Russian contingent from Palmyra, who abandoned its camp unscathed.

Thus, a chain of events led to the fall of Palmyra, which began with the fact that intelligence was unable to reveal the concentration of the shock group of militants and the inability of some units to confront the militants. Also, do not lose sight of such a moment that the defense of Palmyra hangs on the defense of At-Tar height, which locks the city from the west. Falling height means control over the whole city and locks the defenders in it. In May 2015, Palmyra fell according to the same pattern. Then the defenders remaining in the city were executed in the Amphitheater of the old city. This understanding and experience did not add courage to the garrison.

This soldier mainly describes what was happening north of Palmyra and east of it at the elevator. Judging by the text, what happened on the Huvaysis-Jazal line or south of Palmyra, he did not know and could not know.
Regarding the issues of where the aircraft worked, it can be seen from the text that they worked on the enemy’s communications (where they covered the mechanized convoy), the helicopters from Tiyas at the critical moment provided fire support and allowed the retreats to escape from the operational environment.

Not that an ardent liberoid, but a patriotic liberoid, there are some in Russia. Accordingly, in his article there is a bias towards criticism of the Russian Government and the Russian Defense Ministry, often even at the level of lies. Agree, for all the shortcomings of the Russian Defense Ministry, Shoigu's department has definitely not gone down to such lies as Saponkov has drawn here. 64 hits, I'm sure there were. I ask the members of the forum, especially those who closely monitor the situation in Syria (for example, that member of the forum from Ukraine who always posted the latest news on Syria, I don’t remember the nickname) to look for convincing evidence of the MO's strike on the barmaley at the time of the attack on Palmyra, I’m on his page I will lower it, let it ban. This text was found on the network by my friend and colleague Vlad Shurygin (Vlad Shurygin) Shurygin. This is a description of the battle from a Syrian army member Omar Dirmama, recorded by Iyad Al-Hussein. Posted on Facebook by Suleeman Shahin. My friends in Moscow helped me translate the text from Arabic, I did not change anything, laid it out as is, so as not to lose the details.
The fall of Palmyra. Chronicle of events.

    Palmyra 8am Saturday 10.12.2016.

Repeated warnings of Russian satellites come about the impending Daesh attack (as the Arabs call ISIS - hereinafter my notes). An alert sounds about the dangerous cluster of terrorists around the perimeter of the city. Aviation is engaged in attacks on oil fields in the okrug (the attack on the Shaer oil fields first started, my note to the west of Palmyra) and does not have time to react.

10 am, the military facility of As-Sawamei and its environs

The point is located 15 km east of Palmyra on the As-Sukhna highway (I think we are talking about the Granary facility and its environs - my note).
    The composition of the defenders' forces: “Shield of military security” (as I understand it, the forces of Muhabarat, special services - my note) “Al-Badiya” with various units of “As-Sayim”, “Zanubiya”, “Heart of Syria” and the units of “Al-Sheikh Suleiman ”- about 1800 fighters;

    11 and 18 military divisions, which are armed with 6 gun mounts of 130 mm caliber (apparently, we are talking about Soviet 130 mm M-46 guns - my note), and 6-122 mm (most likely D-30 howitzers - my note), 7 Gradov and 12 tanks;

    The terrible legion of Al-Faminiyun of 1200 fighters and many terrifying equipment;
About 150 “Tigers” fighters defend a weak point in the south-east of the region (at that time the most distant point of Palmyra is my note).

In general, this is a rather large army in terms of the number of military and equipment.

So, from the top of At-Tar hill, where the observation post was located, the movement of 2 cars and the DAISH tank was noted on the As-Sukhna highway, 7 km from As-Sawamey.
The aircraft struck and destroyed both cars. The tank continued to move. As it turned out, it was mined with 10 tons of explosive, which could cause damage in a radius of 400 m during an explosion.
Antitank installation "Competition", located in the 18th division for unknown reasons, did not shoot the tank. About 200 m from the positions, the tank was hit from an ATGM (a hand grenade launcher - my note).

A powerful explosion thundered. Among the fighters who survived the explosion, a terrible panic and flight from positions began.
Then a rather long lull followed, the terrorists were preparing for the assault on the heights of At-Tar.
Across the front line, fighters began to leave their positions for no apparent reason. The retreat of the Al-Fatimyun legion provoked a chain reaction, and the legionnaires did not run towards Palmyra, but threw the city’s defense to the mercy of fate.

They were followed by the Military Security Shield and the 18th Division. The 11th division, unlike them, retreated to the city and took up defense along the perimeter of Palmyra.
Those. only the forces of Colonel Sukhel (Tigers - my note), the defenders of the airfield and the air security forces (this is exactly Mukhabarat - my note) (about 100 people) remained in the southeastern defense sector (only XNUMX people).
The soldiers dispersed and created a line of temporary defense from the east and southeast.
    11.00 At-Tar peak area.

Explanation At-Thar peak dominates the city of Palmyra. Control over it will mean control over Palmyra and the route leading to it (this is that peak in the south-west of Palmyra, which can be seen in all photographs - my note).

Typically, Daesh attacks begin with car bombings with suicide bombers, followed by direct contact with the enemy in order to avoid air strikes. At-Thar is the most strategically vulnerable point of defense, owning it - manage the situation.
At the top, there were about 500 Tigers before the fall of Palmyra. At the first danger, about half of them left, explaining this by a delay in wages for 5 months.

In addition, near the summit there are 2 positions of the 18th division in the region of the peak of Ras Antar.
The attack on the top of At-Thar began with shelling of terrorists. The shelling was carried out from 4 pickups with machine guns, which covered the movement of 2 tanks. Also, 130mm caliber guns and mortars - 120 and 82 mm. In addition, the hellish guns (with gas cylinders with explosives) hit the spot.
It is noted that at At-Tar there was no effective anti-tank weapon that could stop and destroy the approaching enemy tanks.

The army men on Ras Anter also had 2 tanks, but the terrorists almost immediately put them out of action with precise blows.

Those. only infantrymen remained on the defenses of the height, and they entered into a direct clash with the enemy.
The fighters managed to defeat the Daesh tanks and the terrorists accompanying them, but it was a hard and long battle. Despite the losses, the defense resisted. The attack lasted until 17 hours, the army team lost several posts. There were many wounded, and several Daesh soldiers were captured. But the rest survived!
18th Division retreated towards the T-4 airfield.

To everyone who asks where the aviation was, we answer that the air forces cannot work in such conditions (I think the point is that the militants are very close to the positions of the Syrians, aviation in such conditions can hit their own - my note), so it the role was only in striking ways to reinforce gangs.

    17.00 pm Palmyra.

The Russians blew up ammunition depots at their base in Palmyra before leaving. The sky above the city turned into a festival of fireworks, which terribly scared the civilian population and the military rear in the city. Subsequently, the city was completely evacuated (apparently, the sight of the fleeing Russians was not the best way affected the morale of the defenders - my note).

    18.00 Palmyra.

The city is empty. There is no population, no military, with the exception of the detachment of state. security and police (the author saw it all with his own eyes).
The head of the Al-Badiya security forces, accompanied by a handful of officers, rode around in his armored luxury Cadillac to demonstrate to his command that he had not left the city. Moreover, 2500 fighters of Al-Badiya and the Military Security Shield were not in Palmyra, none of them defended the city.
Only the soldiers of the 11th division were in positions with the Tigers, but they were dispersed, without a specific deployment.

The tigers contacted the management, reported the situation and asked for urgent reinforcements. Colonel Sukhel ordered to hold on and said that help was on the way.
Of all the other forces that were supposed to defend Palmyra — the 18th division, the Al-Badiya, and the Legion of Fatimun detachments — there was no one left, only Kadilak, Major General Shaulat Hawali, 10 of his officers and a pickup guard.

    22.00 pm.

    Reinforcements did not come.

    24.00 a.m.

About 100 fighters from Al-Fatimyun and 70 people from 18 divisions returned with support. Not much, but good.
The 11th division, like the Tigers, did not leave the city, for which the Tigers are grateful to them and welcome their courage and stamina.
These forces somehow managed to strengthen the eastern flank of the defense. On the As-Sukhna highway (direction to the Granary - my note), 2 tanks and 40 fighters took positions.

    1.00 nights, Sunday, 11.12.2016/XNUMX/XNUMX.

A mine car with suicide bombers from As-Sukhna entered the positions of the 11th division and disabled tanks, several defenders were killed. The rest remained in place. About 60 Tigers came forward to help them. By common efforts, access to the Al-Ameria quarter was closed (as I understand it, this is the north-east of the city - my note) and the hill (???), which has been empty for XNUMX hours already.
Only the area of warehouses 410 on the Rakka highway remained open (the north of the city is my note), since this was not enough strength.

    3.00 a.m.

Communication with the commander. The colonel found out the current situation and explained the situation. The Tigers are grateful to him that he kept in constant contact, encouraging and supporting.
Warehouse sector 410 was empty. Suspicious silence reigned over them, causing concern. But nothing was possible to do. Elementary lacked manpower.

    9.00 Palmyra.

The Daish attack began simultaneously in two directions, to the At-Tar hill (south-west) and Al-Ameria quarter (north, rather, even the north-east of the city). Moreover, at night, dressed in military uniforms, a group of terrorists entered the quarter and suddenly hit us in the back with Tel Al-Ameria, occupied by them. Then they were supported by warehouses 410. I must say that control over Tel Al-Ameria allows you to shoot the entire city. Militants kill anyone they spot on the streets.
    Jebal At-Thar.

At the same time, 4 tanks and 3 Daish pickup trucks with heavy machine guns attacked the positions of the Syrian military at the carefully guarded At-Tar point. Due to cold and hunger, the defense was significantly weakened. Help never came, only false promises.
And yet, the defense of At-Tar fell only after almost all the soldiers were killed or wounded (the author writes above that the defenders did not have anti-tank weapons, i.e. they fought with their bare hands until all died - my note).

    11.00 Palmyra.

Tel Al Ameria under Daesh. Shoot at any moving target. Jebal At-Thar under the terrorists.
Palmyra is surrounded and completely fallen under Daesh fire.
The remnants of the Syrian military were forced to retreat to the southern outskirts and gain a foothold at the Al-Bayrat fork (southwest of the city - my note).

It remains to transfer everything to the scheme, summarize and admit .... that this is a serious moral defeat. And yet Aleppo is more important

We are waiting for the training and proper equipment of the Syrian specialists, since it is no longer possible to fight like that.

We need armor, strong, well-fed Syrian men, tearing everyone they order - neuro linguistic training - and no delay in salary
400 fighters can really be trained, both in separate dozens, and by the general group. It must be animals, killers of death, the curse of igloids, etc., ... that which they must perfectly possess from a knife to a sniper rifle - this is by itself - by itself. So that even in armor they ran 10-15 km.
There will be this detachment, then they can crush them countless heads of all sorts of monsters.
      Otherwise, for a long time.

Interestingly, what did ours do there? Have you arrived at the resort? Shoigu - reprimand, then Kuznetsov loses planes, now our contingent drapanul - well fighting, nothing to say.

Lord, take your debts! Another lackey, or something ...
Romka, tie up with comics! And quit mushrooms. They smoke weed, which is not good, and the mushrooms chew. Which is also bad.
And yours at the airport did what they had to do. And they did. What do you propose that they join the battle not for self-defense? Do you imagine the consequences? Except comic books.
And if you can’t imagine, go to the library, learn to read, read, and start learning to think. Over time, you can think of it.
Do not go reading on the Internet - you will become even more so.

The mayor of Paris, Ann Hidalgo, announced that tonight the Eiffel Tower will plunge into darkness "in protest against the events in Aleppo."

To spite mom's frostbitten ears laughing Yes, even cut it off, purple. For the Eiffel, it’s just a shame.
Well, that’s how Hitler declared mourning in Stalingrad. Why is this worse?

The purpose of this symbolic measure in relation to the monument, which is paid attention to all over the world, is to once again call on the international community to urgent action (in Aleppo)
The Americans need to be in solidarity - in protest, break off the "horns" of the crown on the statue of liberty.
