Reuters: EU resumes work on providing visa-free travel to Ukraine and Georgia
51
The carrot hidden before the nose of Georgia and Ukraine again decided to suspend the European bureaucrats. If a few weeks ago, information arrived from Brussels that the work on granting visa-free regime for Ukrainian and Georgian citizens is frozen for an indefinite period, but now European officials have said that they are ready to resume such work. It is reported by Reuters news agency.
News agency publishes material which states that European officials had previously agreed to freeze the holding of consultations on "visa-free", as there was disagreement between them regarding the mechanism for emergency suspension of the visa-free regime. The point is that not all EU members support a permanent visa-free regime with Georgia and Ukraine and declare the need to introduce legal norms that will allow to put a barrier in front of Georgians and Ukrainians at any time.
It is reported that European officials, resuming work on "visa-free" for Georgia and Ukraine, came to a consensus on the issue of emergency suspension of the regime. What exactly is the European consensus on this issue - not yet reported.
News from Brussels with stormy enthusiasm was received in Tbilisi and especially in Kiev. Now, Mr. Poroshenko fit to write new terms for the EU to cancel the visa regime ... Recall that Poroshenko has already promised the Ukrainians a "wide road" to Europe on November 24.
