Eight Borei nuclear submarines in 2018 year will go into service with the strategic nuclear forces of Russia
The military personnel of the strategic nuclear forces (SNF) of the Russian Federation in 2012 will be replenished with two new Borei-class 955 submarine-launched missile cruisers - the Alexander Nevsky and Yuri Dolgoruky cruisers. According to sources in the military-industrial complex of Russia, starting next year, the strategic missile carriers of this project will be supplied to the armament of the SNF for six years.
The source noted that 8 "Boreev" is planned to be built on Sevmash before the planned deadlines, which are stipulated by the state armaments program. All the main efforts of this shipbuilding enterprise will be directed precisely at building new missile submarine cruisers. The construction of the missile carriers will take place, possibly due to the weakening of the program for the construction of submarines of the "Ash" type. According to the plan, the last of the eight Boreevs will be introduced into the strategic nuclear forces in 2018.
The source also explained that after the successfully completed state tests, which were carried out in December 2011, the Yuri Dolgoruky SSBF was practically incorporated into Russia's strategic nuclear forces. To officially include "Yuri Dolgoruky" in the composition of the SNF, it is necessary to solve purely technical issues, including the installation of the Bulava ballistic missiles, the deployment of food on board, torpedoes, and the operation of cruiser units and mechanisms. In addition, it is necessary to allow the crew of the atomic-powered ship to rest after last year state tests.
On the solution of these issues will take several months, after the missile carrier will go to sea. During combat patrols, he will carry out the tasks of nuclear deterrence, both from the Arctic Ocean and from the Atlantic Ocean.
Adopting the Naval Fleet In 2012, Russia will receive the first nuclear-powered ship of the same project, "Alexander Nevsky." The same source said that last year the initial stage of marine tests was successfully completed by the nuclear-powered submarine, and this year, most likely in the fall, factory sea trials will be completed. If everything goes well, then Alexander Nevsky will be adopted.
The source added that if everything goes according to the plan, then in 2013, the naval SNF will receive the third cruiser "Vladimir Monomakh", and in 2014, the "Saint Nicholas". This year it is planned to lay the 5 th Borey on Sevmash, and then to launch the cruiser every year so that the program of reequipment of the SNF will be completed in 2018 year.
