Israeli company introduced a UAV capable of recognizing explosives

30
Laser Detect Systems (LDS, Israel) presented a new SpectroDrone UAV equipped with sensors to detect explosives and other chemical compounds from a safe distance, reports bmpd with reference to the press release of the company.

"On drone uses a laser system developed by LDS to detect the presence of explosives and other hazardous materials in gases, liquids, powders, or in bulk cargo, from a distance of several meters. The SpectroDrone can perform these tasks with an operational range of 3 km.

It is noted that "in addition to taking samples for the presence of hazardous materials, the UAV remotely analyzes various materials in real time, thereby playing an important role for the mining industry and other industries."

The drone was presented in Tel Aviv at the HLS & Cyber Expo. According to the release, there is no such system in any country in the world.

It seems to me that the places of application of such a UAV are very limited.
Only where the ground complex does not pass.

Yes, of course. This is all specific. We have not heard of such "airplanes", but I know that there is a large production (FSB plant) specializing in this problem ..

And if there is a strong wind at the facility, and if the smoke is foggy, rain ... good for ideal conditions.
And if the Arab excuse me around the corner .. l the smell will not interrupt the scent of the device ...
as I understand it, he flies in takes a sample and flies away ... our dear Carslon ... a stationary laboratory does all the same a detailed analysis.

This is a purely police car. But it may well occupy its own niche.

Certainly, for an attempt to search for iv in an area strewn with fragments of ammunition and cartridges at a distance neither by mass spectrographs nor electronic noses, will not lead to success.

Oh yes, I know you PVoshnikov. First, say that you would not confuse it with an enemy target, no higher than 10 m, then no faster than 10 m / s, and then knock it down, just in case.

Oh, how everything is cleverly conceived, everything in the case --- the device helps to clear the occupied territory and simultaneously determines if there is oil !!! Democrats should like it.
P.S. This should have been asked of our Medvedev, otherwise some helicopter was presented to him)))

In the Great Patriotic War, partisans sprinkled with grated tolm railway. Literally a few grams by several hundred meters. Dog sappers went crazy.
What will prevent terrorists from spraying TNT at all pedestrian crossings between Israel and the Gaza Strip for example?
You can not even trotyl, and nitrate-containing drugs.

Terrorists usually have little to put on a side land mine
time at night. Running and scattering TNT will take some time. Footprints
      again, the trackers are cutting.
Of course, you can deal with detectors. But still
      "electronic noses" are very life-saving.

The only application that I see is the definition of gas contamination during emergency situations of dangerous objects, on the possibility of a jerk. It’s so incomprehensible about explosives, in the mining industry there is strict control over it, and terrorists do not carry it in bulk in trucks.

There is a strong suspicion that this UAV uses secret biotechnologies and uses a long nose implanted into the drone system as a sensor. lol

As an option for the development of explosive detection tools, it will be quite interesting. Why not. This drone should be launched in front of the columns or in places of a possible terrorist attack, monitoring the perimeter of certain objects

I totally agree with you! It's just that "voyaka uh" from Israel is very fond of lying, without citing any sources as evidence. In Russia there is a saying: "A dog barks - the wind carries."
