In China, the modernization of the ground complex NITKA with catapults

In China, the modernization of the ground test and training complex of ship aviation (THREAD), located on the shore of the Gulf of Bohai in Liaoning Province, reports bmpd.

In 2013 there were only blocks with springboards, which were used to prepare pilots for the first aircraft carrier "Liaoning". At present, the complex is equipped with catapults, “with the two catapult tracks somewhat different from each other (most likely, electromagnetic and steam catapults are installed),” the author writes with reference to military expert Yuri Lyamin.

According to some reports, "the first successful takeoffs of the deck J-15 using an electromagnetic catapult have already taken place," the publication notes.

"And indeed, judging by the last October satellite images, there 17 of October is seen J-15, standing next to one of the two ejection tracks," - said the expert.

This is a J-15 modification for take-off using a catapult and with WS-10 engines.

China is preparing to become the ruler of the seas and oceans. There is money so far. I hope that we will stand side by side, and not opposite each other ...

China completes the modernization of ground testing ship aviation complex (THREAD)

    - THREAD, in the original, is the Ground Test Training Complex Aviation
    - The Chinese complex has nothing to do with the Soviet one. From the word "absolutely"

      has, has.

On the outskirts of Wuhan, Hubei Province, a “ground-based aircraft carrier” was built - an almost complete overall copy of a medium-sized aircraft carrier with an island, a flight deck and a springboard, which in appearance is similar to the aircraft carrier cruiser project 1143.6 "Varyag" (now the Chinese aircraft carrier "Shi Lang")

A couple of these installations, which are reportedly located in Liaoning, Hubei and Shanxi provinces, are designed to simulate the deck of an aircraft carrier landing system. For example, the massive carrier pilot training base at Huludao, Liaoning province appears to be a near duplicate of the design of Nitka (Ukrainian"was!" Nazemniy Ispitatelno — Tryenirovochniy Kompleks Aviatsii: Land-based Naval Aviation Testing and Training Complex). The NITKA facilities are state of the art land-based installations for operating one of the Russian-designed carriers that utilize a ski ramp for take-off instead of the steam catapult and arresting cable / tailhook landing system used on US and French aircraft carriers ( Taipei Times, February 15)

Have CATOBAR (Catapult Assisted Take-Off But Arrested Recovery or Catapult Assisted Take-Off Barrier Arrested Recovery)
Brazil for carrier aviation training - the Chinese trained there in the 2009s (“PLAN Officers to Train on Brazilian Aircraft Carrier,” China Brief, June 12, 2009)
and STOBAR ((Short Take-Off But Arrested Recovery) -THREAD (this is our version of STOBAR)
The Chinese both trained and stripped a lot from the thread

The Chinese have now pushed 2: 1 = no need to fly to Brazil and to Ukraine (oh, already to Russia)

      So what "so" wink

The assembly of Type 001A is now ending. Although Dalian made a party commitment to lower the ship to NG, most likely this will not happen.

Next year they will begin to assemble Tip002 at the same place - it will be with a classic power plant and without jumps.

The program adopted in China for 15 years provides for 6 aircraft carriers:
      Type001 (Varangian / Liaolin) + Type001А - period 2018 year
      Type002 + Type002 - term 2024 year

It seemed to me alone that on the 1st and 3rd photos a fragment of the runway in the form of the letter "Y" is clearly visible?
Considering the fact that the "Chinese NITKA" complex was most likely ripped off at our place, I dare to suggest that we will not see a snapshot of the entire complex for censorship reasons. So, as it is, to facilitate the orientation of young pilots in adverse weather conditions, in the Russian version it is made in the form of a cherished word.
How does this help in orienteering?
-Earth, I board number XXXX. Lost orientation. I don’t see where to sit. Waiting for your instructions.
-Board number XXX take a seat on ....
    -Earth, I understand you, I see a landmark ...
PS International landmark, widely known. The Chinese will not miss by.

I can build an electromagnetic catapult in my country house. Only now I have to build a nuclear power plant the size of a country toilet, which I can not do in the country. I do not have technologies (and never will) of compact nuclear power plants.

China is hard in this regard. If the technology of aircraft carrier troughs is an open secret, accessible even to Zimbabwean blacks, then only two countries in the world possess the technologies of compact nuclear power plants. Technologies, but not samples purchased in the USA (as in Britain for example). A compact nuclear reactor is not an iPhone.

To make the "frying pan" fly up, you need a catapult!
A good airplane and a springboard will be enough! And the size of an aircraft carrier depends on gadgets (catapults, in a count of two)!
Question? Have you already solved the problem of burning the guides? The currents (amperes) are crazy! And the metal burns like wood. 400 launches!? Oppa! And then repair? And where? And time? Yes, the energy advantage over a steam catapult, approx. 30%, and the preparation time for the "launch"? Stick, then, about two ends!

The question is whether China needs aircraft carriers or not, not controversial, but positively affirmed, which cannot be said about us. We scratch all the turnips, but we argue - "it is necessary or not" ... At the same time, even destroyers have not yet been honored to build.
