The first modernized side under the contract of 2015 IL-38N Marine aviation Russian Navy (tail number "11 yellow", serial number 880010308, serial number 103-08, registration number RF-75308, name "Mikhail Verbitsky").

The aircraft with the name “Mikhail Verbitsky” has the tail number “11 yellow” and the registration number RF-75308. This is the seventh modernized Il-38H and the first under the contract from 2015 g for two cars.

Help bmpd: “JSC SV Ilyushin Aviation Complex” in May 2015 entered into a contract with the RF Ministry of Defense for the serial modernization of the next two Il-38 combat planes to IL-38Н, the term of the contract execution - by November 2017. Direct works they are carried out at the 20-th Aviation Repair Plant JSC in Pushkin (repair) and the Moscow VM Myasishchev Experimental Machine-Building Plant JSC based on Zhukovsky (installation of the new search and targeting system Novela-P-38 "produced by JSC" Leninets ")".

It is necessary to resume mass production of the IL-18, taking into account new technologies, on the basis of which the IL-38 was created

That's just the speed of modernization and the number of modernized aircraft would increase, I think that the pilots would not be offended by this then.

It was necessary to perfect the Tu-XNUMXs and place reconnaissance and control complexes on this platform.
With state aid, to launch large-scale serial production, so that the Air Force would sit on this plane tightly, civilians and then sales would go for the cordon.

The United States is using Orions for PLO on the basis of the Electra passenger turboprop airliner, similar to the Il-18. The Il-18 is more reliable, it has two generators on board, and on the Electra and Orion it is 1, which, if the first engine fails, deprives the Americans of all control amplifiers and leads to the failure of all remaining engines. Tu-204 is a good car, but turbojet engines are inferior to turboprop engines in fuel consumption and Carcass does not have such a flight range as Il.

So that's the point of what they did, but the grandfathers, unfortunately, leave, and we are successfully "eating up" their legacy, frankly, all the Russian developments are touched by the USSR. I'm not specifically about IL, about everything new that turns out to be well forgotten old.

The Il-18 is hopelessly outdated! Yes, in the 90s and in the 18s, you can shaman, but now its "classmates" are written off outright! The aircraft manufacturers have learned to make very economical turbojet aircraft. ammunition) and a large payload. On the basis of the Tu-204 anti-submarine version was proposed. The Ministry of Defense twisted its nose and refused. Like, the minimum speed is too high, the time spent on patrol is short. Now it is offered on the basis of the IL-114, but this is not an equivalent replacement for the 38th.

        Rudolph, welcome!

MS-21 is theoretically possible, but this time is considerable.

Well, why? I’m sure that if you take it quickly, then in a year you can quickly settle everything and calculate, and at the beginning of the 18th year begin the state tests. Well, for now, this will all be done, supplying the troops with what is at the moment.

And you will actually sound the platforms you are talking about. Is it again Tu204? And what does he know how to hang out over the patrol area at a speed of 350-400 km for 10 hours? Or do you have some information about a top-secret carrier similar to IL18 according to LTX? Over the past week, this is the second news about modernized machines based on the Il18, and in both cases there is a high over the old plane. Yes, he will outlive you gentlemen of criticism. There is no substitute for him either as an anti-submarine, nor as an electronic warfare, nor as an ice reconnaissance to this day. A brilliant aircraft of a brilliant designer.

And I don’t argue about the stuffing. Of course, electronics for 30-40 went ahead very strongly. That complex, which was on the first version of the aircraft, today can be placed in a small box.
But a zealous owner will never throw away an old, but a working thing. The aircraft has a car of unspent resources. Why should it be written off? Updated electronics and go.
Making a new carrier is several times more expensive, although of course it is necessary. Only here with the base is not yet densely with us. For such airplanes, as a rule, the serial device acts as a carrier (passenger or transport carrier), but somehow I don’t see in our series yet anything except the Superjet, which can’t do such work well.
