Indonesia and Turkey develop MMWT medium tank

Development of the machine began in 2014 g in accordance with the agreement signed by the parties. 2 prototypes are being manufactured - one in Indonesia, the other in Turkey.

“The tank has a classic layout, a running gear with six rubberized rollers and a rear drive wheel, a torsion bar suspension. Additionally, the machine is equipped with composite protection modules and enhanced mine protection. The power and type of the diesel engine is not explicitly called, but judging by the specific power output “more than 20 hp / t”, it must have a power more than 700 hp, the transmission is automatic. The declared maximum speed on the highway is 70 km / h, the power reserve is up to 450 km. Also, the tank is equipped with an auxiliary diesel power plant, "- said in a statement.

The length of the tank is 7 m., The width is 3,2 m, the height is 2,7 m. According to the developers, “the machine will be able to cross the ford 1,2 m deep, the 2 m ditch and the 0,9 m high wall.

The tank is armed with a 105-mm rifled CMI Defense cannon and a twin machine gun caliber 7,62 mm. The gun is equipped with a drum-type automatic loader. Duplicated fire control system with stabilized round-the-clock sights.

These tanks for the third world countries will not pose a big threat to our tanks, and I think that they will not have to face our tanks in battle.

In short, this is a mini-Leclerc based on the Swedish BMP for arab-blacks, who can not pull the normal modern MBT.

Not certainly in that way. Not "not to pull", but simply there is no need. Compared to the old stuff that runs in Africa, this would be quite a wunderwaffe.
This could well be ours. But the Turks were better at marketing.

64 and 72 on this list are superfluous.
In this prototype, weapons and armor correspond more to a light tank.

There, the Cockerill 3105 gun is a 105-mm cannon with reduced pressure of powder gases (and therefore rifled) and a weakened recoil designed specifically for light armored vehicles.
It is by definition inferior to a classic tank gun.

At Eurosatory 2016, the first time in Europe, the Belgian company CMI Defense presented two versions of its technological novelty: the modular towers of the Cockerill 3000 series, namely the Cockerill 3030 and Cockerill 3105.
... as well as high pressure guns of 90 and 105 mm calibres. The last two systems also have the ability to launch missiles through the bore.

Features of theater. They need to replace the AMX-13, PT-76 and British "Scorpions" in the amount of 350 pieces with a penny. Partially replaced with full-fledged newest MBT-"Leopards and MBT-Revolution." Partially, apparently, on this medium tank.

Why they decided to develop themselves, and did not take from the Germans the average based on the BMP "Marder", which they also buy from the availability after modernization, is unknown. It looks like politics. "Support for domestic"

Yes, it looks like a convertible type, "tape" like the French. The only thing I like is that it was not bad to bungle such a tower on the T-72. The Ukrainians for the T-64 under 120 mm "muddied" the same at one time. It is clear that the shell for the 125 mm guns should be unitary though.
