The Americans offered the Japanese together to create invisibility.

The Japanese concern Mitsubishi received an offer of comprehensive cooperation from its long-time partner - American Lockheed Martin. We are talking about the joint creation of the fifth-generation stealth fighter, which is planned to be supplied by the Air Force during 10 years. Japan may become the fourth country (after the United States, Russia and China), which began testing the fifth-generation fighter of its own.

Concern Mitsubishi Heavy Industries received an offer from the American Lockheed Martin to jointly develop an invisible fighter. “We provided them with the necessary information (on the project) in accordance with the request made in August. The Japanese aerospace industry has great potential. We are ready for all-round cooperation, ”the head of the American company Marilyn Hewson“ Kommersant ”quotes.

These two concerns had once created the F-4 and F-2 fighters, which the Japanese Defense Ministry plans to replace as obsolete. Now in service with the Japanese self-defense forces is about 130 such machines. A fighter with the design name Advanced Technology Demonstrator X is considered as a replacement. The final design decision is expected no earlier than 2018 of the year, and commissioning in this case is expected no earlier than in 10 years.
Note that in April, Mitsubishi has already demonstrated its fifth-generation X-2 aircraft. Japan became the fourth country (after Russia, the United States and China), which began testing the fifth-generation fighter of its own.

On the X-2 prototype, it is planned to work out various technologies of the future aircraft: stealth technology, as well as the airframe and the engine, which should provide extremely high maneuverability, other systems.

Plays T-50 in all respects.

The exact characteristics of the prototype fifth-generation Japanese fighter ATD-X Shinshin, demonstrated by Japan, are not yet known. However, based on the resources available to the Japanese, opinions were expressed that the new Japanese fighter would be inferior to the Russian counterpart, the T-50 (PAK FA), in parameters such as stealth, cruising supersonic flight speed, modern radio-electronic equipment, including radar AFAR, all-angle shelling of targets and super-maneuverability. In addition, if Russia plans to put the T-50 into service next year, then the Japanese fighter will turn from a prototype into a real combat vehicle much later.

Recall, October 14 Commander-in-Chief of the Air and Space Forces, Colonel-General Viktor Bondarev said that next year the first five T-50s are waiting for VKS. “Next year we will complete its tests,” Interfax quoted Bondarev.

As is known, the first test flight of the PAK FA took place on January 29 2010, in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The PAK FA is a single-strike aircraft, in whose design composite materials are widely used. According to open data, it will meet the following requirements for VKS for 5 generation fighters: supersonic flight without afterburner, low visibility for radar, optical, acoustic and other detection systems, super-maneuverability and the ability to perform relatively short takeoff and landing. Flight performance of the aircraft is not officially disclosed.
At the moment, the only fifth-generation fighter aircraft in service are the American F-22 Raptor and F-35 aircraft.

Japanese are able to create a similar aircraft

Dmitry Drozdenko, deputy editor-in-chief of the Arsenal of Fatherland magazine, recalls that the prototype provided by the Japanese in April was fairly general, it is still too early to judge the characteristics of the future fifth-generation fighter of Japan’s self-defense forces. You can only talk about the financial and technological capabilities of Japanese aircraft manufacturers.

“To begin with, the fifth generation Air Force fighter must have a number of certain tactical and technical characteristics: the engine of this aircraft must have the ability to maintain cruising sound speed without using afterburners, the device itself must use stealth technology, that is, partial stealth technology for a certain radar and, finally, to possess a complex of modern weapons. All other characteristics are made by different manufacturers at the discretion. So, Russia adds “super-maneuverability” to the characteristics of its own fighter, ”Drozdenko told the LOOK newspaper.

As for the Japanese, according to the expert, they have access to modern technology, and aviation Japan’s industry since the Second World War has enormous potential, in addition, they have enough financial resources. “Given that the American company Lockheed Martin possesses fifth-generation technology, it is possible to create such a fighter in Japan. The combination of Mitsubishi’s resources, American technology and Japanese tenacity will help create a fifth-generation fighter, ”he said.

Visible American "invisible"

Drozdenko also notes that it is difficult to compare the future miracle of the Japanese aviation industry with Russian and American counterparts, especially since only American aircraft are in operation. “The next one is a Chinese fighter, but for the time being I would also call it just a flying declaration. Besides, do not forget the numerous stories with F-22 and F-35 breakdowns, when restrictions on radius of use were imposed on the operation of aircraft, ”the expert noted.

The expert recalled that although F-22 seemed to take part in US operations in Iraq and Syria, but considering how carefully Americans treat their latest technology, it is difficult to judge the real experience of their combat use. “It is not by chance that our commander of the VKS in Syria spoke about the“ Western dreamers ”in connection with the invisible aircraft. American fighters are rather psychological than combat. weapons"He said.

Drozdenko said that stealth technology was created by Americans based on Soviet research and allows the aircraft to remain invisible to the radars of a particular system. “When it turned out that the use of different wavelengths and passive radar technology makes the“ invisible ”visible, the USA removed their first invisible fighters from service,” the expert recalled.

The Americans offered the Japanese together to create invisibility.

In my opinion, banter here is inappropriate from the word ABSOLUTELY. Whatever news about foreign technology, so immediately - "cut". Come up with something new, or it already starts to get boring. Something is not written about the bourgeois colonels who keep money in the house, comparable to the budget of the whole city. It was just a Russian colonel. And if on the topic, then the author's assertion that the future Japanese-American fighter "loses to the T-50 in all respects" causes a smile. It's like comparing Toyota and Infiniti with Lada. I won't say anything about electronics at all, and everything is clear. The site used to be much more interesting. People here discussed the performance characteristics of foreign and Russian samples. Their strengths and weaknesses. And now, unfortunately, it resembles a bazaar-maker of discussions of technology and a lot of "cut", "old stuff", "crap
th "," we will tear "," they rot, and we flourish "..... It is regrettable, to observe the degeneration of the once interesting site

Dadadad, while Toyota and its consumer electronics are better advertised, Japan’s military electronics are inevitably better. And even the area of Japan immediately automatically becomes larger, along with the size of arable land and the volume of minerals. So you want to believe that we are getting worse, right? Just worse by definition, that's all. Regardless of who refused their safety systems, for example, pay for your self-confidence. And now Merikans will add nippons more of their bagovannanno software from F-35, simultaneously doubling-tripling the development budget. And no, I do not mean a cut in the classical sense of looting, only in understanding the general inability to effectively plan military budgets.

Navigator, you shouldn’t fall from the left extreme either to the right. All this took place in 41, and what it cost the country everyone knows. Save your lyric epithets for the TV and the bazaar in it .. F35 is a very good plane, just the Amers have different views on tactics of its application and tasks. And its flaws in the software are strongly desired and exaggerated by the cheers, but this will not make it worse. Your miracle does not need to be endowed with divine properties. This iron and its capabilities are real and finite and are not yet fully understood .....

Of course, I go to extremes, along with Michael Gilmore, director of the operational testing and evaluation department, who submitted a memorandum to the deputy secretary of defense for procurement, technology and logistics, the minister of the air force, chief of staff of the air force on the topic of achieving full combat readiness of a single attack fighter at significant risk. But to express myself extensively about the possibilities of iron (which, by the way, are zero without software) is very humanitarian: the head is a dark subject, and cannot be studied.

The Japanese will be from a composite - they are in this ancestors. Electronics without software is just iron - Russian mathematicians in the development of algorithms are the best. That's where the Japanese take the engines - they need Lockheed for this. Ammunition remains - do the Japanese have their own missiles, if not, then the Yankees are again needed. hi
The Japanese recognized Russian navigations on the composite wing - they do not have such technology.

But are you tired of calling any domestic development a cut? It seems like a wedge is knocked out by a wedge, but so far we have the T-50 in the schedule, and the F-35 has long been accepted for service unfinished, because, it seems, hopes are even lost.
For example, the French development - UDC type "Mistral": if not for Egypt, would be cut in the literal sense. We are ready for everything, just to not live in peace with Russia, as we offer.

Based on available resources, they are just fine. The country's budget is many times higher than ours. So if they want and give up all their strength, they will create a fighter no worse than ours, if not better.

What's so funny? It is ridiculous to just follow the 40-year-old prescription of the superiority of Japanese consumer electronics (created by industrial espionage and the Americans as the winner in the occupied territory) when comparing military electronics. Without any direct justification, since it was classified on both sides, and there were no direct clashes. Now, if nippons shove electronics from the Toyota you admire on airplanes, then there really is something to laugh about.

It is not a matter of who gives way to anyone, but of who will give way to whom, if he cooperates with Lockheed. She has already destroyed the reputation of a conscientious developer, and I can’t imagine the reasons that could push nippons to such cooperation. And about poking, you have some kind of complex, I have nothing to do with it.

Let's take a "real" look at Japan: there are no nuclear and missile technologies, they do not produce aircraft turbines, there is no own global positioning system, and much more. What is there? Production of consumer goods and ... production of consumer goods. And whose processors are in Japanese electronics? American? Everything that you admire in the Japanese is created by Europeans.

They didn’t pull the supersuper plane, but they already advertised and promised that is why they want to pull up the Japanese. But together, they may well make something worthwhile. In general, if we take the 5th generation American criteria as a basis, then such an aircraft does not yet exist.

A very bold statement, but fake and unproven. Requirements for the aircraft are formed by not clever experts and experts, they are formed by the tactics of modern warfare, which takes into account, among other things, achievements of scientific and technological progress ..... Many repeat the learned criteria, invented by someone, and do not even try to think about where the real ones come from. .. The world is undergoing an information revolution and the 5th generation airplane is a key link in the modern information system. And all the requirements for it are formulated in order to maximize the effectiveness of such a link. Countries that do not have such global information and combat systems simply cannot have a 5th generation aircraft, regardless of any capabilities and installed systems on it ... I see ...

The creation of microchips and other electronic components for consumer goods or for the needs of space or the army are two big differences.

It is not clear why Japan is "invisible" at all. China has announced it has powerful over-the-horizon multi-band radars in all frequency spectra. Aircraft China can do a lot more than Japan. If you send your super-expensive Japanese miracle to bomb Russia, it is also doubtful. Well, if they want, then let them do it. Although for Japan, drones and powerful interceptors would be more important than a pathetic excuse for breaking through air defense.
