And here, after all, the thing is: no irony. The situation looks so serious that, as they say, the smell of gunpowder is felt quite clearly. Sometimes some headlines in the press make this scent very accented: “The US is considering the possibility of hitting the al-Assad airfields”, “Russia is responding with readiness to increase military support for the Syrian army”, “The US is preparing new sanctions against Russia”, “Russia is giving the US an ultimatum to lift sanctions” , “The Pentagon convenes a council on the use of the maritime component in the Middle East”, “The Russian squadron in the eastern Mediterranean will be replenished with three IRCs with Caliber and Malachite. As they say, know comment ...
In this case, both irreconcilable camps are on their own. And if Russia explains its actions in order to help Syria cope with terrorism, including by supporting the territorial integrity of the SAR, the Western camp is trying to play up with the goal setting. The initial declarations of the United States and the puppet "Assad should go" with a spectacular entry into the Syrian confrontation of the Russian Aerospace Force transformed into "We and we alone fight in Syria with terrorists, and Russia supports Assad." Against the background of this American development, the terrorists successfully intertwined with the so-called “moderate oppositionists” for the plan’s developers, established a unique system for supplying militants with weapons, ammunition and other “freebie” methods of “erroneous discharge of cargoes” by the American coalition’s aircraft and hands of militants.
And now you can imagine the indignation of the "unique nation", until the fulfillment of which plans for the overthrow of the next "bloody dictator" remained a matter of weeks. By the fall of 2015, when Russian military aircraft were deployed to Syria, Bashar al-Assad was doing something, so to speak, full of stitches. In Damascus, in almost literal sense, the terrorist trash of all stripes was walking about, preparing for the final assault against the backdrop of the "antiterrorist campaign of the United States." - Such a campaign in which Syria would expect 100% repetition of the Libyan scenario. And Russia here, in principle, could act like the same Libya: evacuate the embassy, prodinamit a veto on the American resolution and generally wash our hands, subsequently observing that someone in the American administration would again exclaim "Wow!" The “military review” (well, not only on “VO”) was indignant for some time (even if it was a long one), the authorities would complain about the cowardice, remember the NATO spit in Yugoslavia in our direction, well, and then ... get lost. It sounds hard and unpleasant, but it would hardly have been otherwise. Officials would also wipe, then designating a thousand reasons why Syria was thrown. - They say, why the “second Afghan”, “it is necessary to restore order at home” - in general, they would use the typical swamp rhetoric, which does not subside to this day, and which the authorities themselves seem to fear.
And it was exactly this that the overseas "partners" expected from us. In their plans, our reaction (the reaction of Russia) did not appear at all. They thought: well, but these should not be taken into account, for “regional power”, “small economy” and all that ... But, as we know, the reaction manifested itself.
And here are the developers of the next plan to introduce “democracy” and actually observe in real-time how Russian attack aircraft and bombers, along with the Syrian army, who have rekindled their spirit, bury all their attempts, including financial ones, comparing their important geopolitical ambitions with sand and rubble - terrorist groups. Of course, in the camp of the American "hawks" confusion. Firstly, the whole operation began to get out of control, secondly, Asad stood up and tried to participate in the presidential elections, thirdly, he tries to hatch from the magic testicle the need to move all-in against the nuclear power (Russia), and Fourthly, Obama's “peacemaker” status finally collapses, although he was obviously going to “stake Nobel” and, at the end of his presidential career, announce that he had brought “peace, happiness and democracy” to Syria, overthrowing Assad.
Thus, the States for the first time in the newest stories faced with the prospect of deafening defeat. And Washington understands here that this all-in with respect to Russia can no longer be limited to new ridiculous sanctions, even if they are announced very ominously. After the suspension of cooperation on plutonium, Russia has demonstrated that Moscow has enough space for a retaliatory sanction maneuver. And plutonium is not the limit. Take at least space. After all, a purely hypothetical event may occur an unprecedented event: the United States will remain without this very space. On the one hand: it seems to encourage the construction of their own rockets, but on the other hand: while they build, they will laugh because ... in orbit the number of American astronauts is zero ...
And the Russian authorities, apparently, come to taste. Moscow realizes that it is pointless to negotiate with the lame duck Obama, because even the representatives of his own administration (plus members of the Democratic Party in Congress) are not putting anything into it. And while in the United States actually pre-election powerless - the moment can be used. Moreover, it should be used in such a way that the new administration could start a conversation from the position of if not force, then at least from the position of the side standing in the same Syria one step ahead. And in such a situation, both candidates for the presidency in the United States, by definition, need to feverishly think about how to preserve the American face in the Middle East. After all, the Arabs are a nation, how to say it ... sensitive: they will catch even the weakest smell of a probable American failure and strengthening the role of the Russian Federation. But there are also pre-election promises on domestic policy, to which ordinary Americans, for obvious reasons, have much more interest than the fate of Assad (we in Russia, based on the Russian mentality, can afford to take care of Assad more than raising public sector wages ...). And the Russian authorities understand this, and they are doing their work on the Syrian front. Well, the hysteria of the Western (and not only Western) media is clear: the info or even inforfory is a defensive reaction to when instead of the next item in the action plan - an empty space.
And this is from yesterday’s Syria from the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation (very clearly from Major General Igor Konashenkov):
The combat calculations of the Russian air defense systems are unlikely to have time to find out on the "straight line" the exact program of the flight of the missiles and the ownership of their carriers. We are also ready to help amateurs dispel their illusions about the existence of stealth aircraft.
