The second Mistral from France arrives at the Egyptian Navy base in Alexandria

Information Agency TASS Citing Egyptian sources, reports the arrival of a second Mistral-type helicopter carrier to Egypt. We are talking about a military ship, which was built by order of the Russian Ministry of Defense at the French shipyard Saint-Nazaire, but was not included in the Russian Navy due to the sanctions supported on Paris by Russia. Official Cairo decided to purchase Mistrals built for Russia.
The helicopter carrier who arrived in Egypt, previously received the name of one of the presidents of the country - "Anwar Sadat" (NS Anwar Sadat 1020). The helicopter carrier came out of Saint-Nazaire on September 21. At the same time he managed to take part in the joint with France naval exercises "Cleopatra-2".
The Mistral-type warship NS Anwar Sadat 1020 is assigned to the Egyptian naval base in Alexandria. This is the base of Ras al-Tin.
Today both helicopters handed over to Egypt, Gamal Abdel Nasser and Anwar Sadat, will take part in events to mark the 43 anniversary of the beginning of the Arab-Israeli war (October 6 on 1973), also known as the Doomsday War. This war in Egypt is considered victorious for themselves, although Israel has the opposite opinion.
Russia and Egypt are actively consulting on equipping the Egyptian Mistral with Russian equipment and wing. In particular, we are talking about Egypt’s readiness to sign a contract for the supply of Ka-52K helicopters from Russia (deck version of the Alligator), as well as communications equipment.
