ARMY-2016. Two words about military engineers
Of course, I would like to begin a story about some of the exhibits from the field of application of the engineering troops with IMR-3M.
Barrier Engineering Machine (IMR-3M) created on the chassis tank T-90 is designed to equip the paths of movement of military columns in forests, areas of city blockages, cross-country terrain and other engineering work to ensure the advancement of troops on soils classified as categories I through IV.
Compared to its predecessors (IMR-2M, IMR-3), the operator and the driver’s cabins are structurally changed in the new machine. An additional set of protection against mines and anti-tank weapons was also mounted. Protection against normal is seriously strengthened. weapons, including anti-tank weapons. The IRM-3М received technical capabilities enabling it to independently overcome minefields by installing a knife track track mine equipped with an electromagnetic attachment (KMT-RZ).
Improved conditions for the performance of combat missions for the crew: substantial ergonomic reworkings of combat posts were carried out, a new life support system was installed, which included devices for heating food, boiling water, collecting and storing waste, including crew waste. The autonomy of the crew in the IRM-3M is three days.
WRI-3M is one of the most promising and advanced engineering lining machines. Possessing a sealed hull, it is able to perform tasks in conditions of high concentration in the atmosphere of aggressive gases, toxic substances, vapors, dust, smoke, as well as in areas exposed to radioactive contamination (the crew works without personal protective equipment), and in conditions of direct fire resistance of the enemy . The machine is equipped with radiation, chemical reconnaissance and dosimetric monitoring devices. The installed underwater driving equipment allows the machine to force water barriers to a depth of up to 5 m along the bottom.
The capabilities of IMR-3M allow classifying it as a dual-purpose technique. It can work both as a WRI, and as an emergency rescue vehicle. At the IMR-3M, the newest development communication means and a smoke suppression system are installed, which allows the machine to be covered with a smoke screen that is sufficiently dense and large in area. Tick-borne grip replaced by a universal working body (URO), which significantly reduced the total weight of the unit.
The new manipulator (telescopic boom) has a very high mobility. They can take and hold things that are comparable in size to a box of matches (for example, fragments with a high radiation background). The RWD perfectly complements the mine-mounted and multifunctional dozer equipment installed on the machine, as it can be used as a forward and reverse shovel, a ripper, scraper or a manipulator. A telescopic boom mounted on a full swing tower, being equipped with a scraper bucket, is used as excavator equipment. Ripper, grapple, grip can also be fixed on the boom.
Bulldozer equipment WRI is universal and can be used in the grader, two-tail or actual dozer positions. They change without leaving the crew, remotely. A front mounted ski allows you to adjust the degree of depth required for the dozer blade. With this equipment, the car falls asleep craters and moats, shifts large debris. Bulldozer equipment in the stowed position is raised and secured on the roof of the WRI, boom equipment is deployed and moved back. In this position, the machine is quite compact and can be transported by rail. Equipment is installed on the lashing machine to allow self-digging.
The IMR-3М is armed with an autonomous large-caliber anti-aircraft machine-gun installation, similar to the one installed on the T-90 (closed-type installation). Its purpose - protection against air attack, the fight against manpower and lightly armored targets. A machine gun can be used to shoot mines that are in a non-recoverable state.
WRI is attracted for laying the paths of movement of columns on the middle terrain, snow virgin, in low forest and on slopes. It is used for felling trees, uprooting stumps, making passages in stone and forest obstructions, non-explosive barriers and minefields. IMR-3М can disassemble emergency structures and buildings, blockages in various localities, a fragment of buried shelters and equipment, digging pits and trenches, backfilling of ravines, ditches, holes. It is also used for the preparation of escarpes, ditches, crossings through anti-tank ditches, erection of dams. Technical characteristics of the machine provide the possibility of mounting the bridges section, arranging exits and exits at water crossings. It is very effective to use WRI in open workings, in quarries, for fighting fires on peatlands and in forests, towing and evacuating equipment that has been damaged.
2. Wheeled road car KDM.
Designed to perform tasks for the preparation and maintenance of the paths of movement and maneuver of troops.
In order to eliminate the identified deficiencies in the UDM machine, which is in service with the Russian army, such as oversized dimensions and low speed, and to expand the capabilities of wheeled trackers, a troop wheeled vehicle was developed on the basis of a modern ATM tractor 5280.
Compared with UDM, KDM is lighter and more compact, which allows transportation by all types of transport.

3. Wheeled road car armored KDMB.
In 2013, JSC "41 Central Railroad Engineering Plant" took the initiative to create an armored CY for the needs of the engineering troops.

4. Complex track universal KPU-1
Designed for mechanized performance of work related to the alignment of the track in the plan and profile. Engaged in the distilling of sleepers on the marks, the distillation of butt gaps; ballasting, ballast distribution, planning and finishing of the ballast section, cleaning of the upper bed of the sleepers from excess ballast.
Composition:
