A mourning ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the city of Moscow - a farewell ceremony for the Moscow firefighters who were killed on September 22. The number of people who wished to conduct EMERCOM employees was so large that the civil memorial service was extended for several hours. From the message
press service MES:
Hundreds of people, including their colleagues, friends and ordinary citizens, came to the last journey of eight firemen - colonel of the internal service Alexander Yurchikov, major of the internal service Alexei Akimov, captain of the internal service Roman Georgiev, senior lieutenant of the internal service Alexander Korentsov, ensign Pavel Andryushkin, Warrant Officer Nikolai Golubev, Warrant Officer Sergey Sinelobov, Senior Officer Pavel Makarochkin.
From the statement of the head of department Vladimir Puchkov:
Today we see our dear comrades on the last journey. Professionalism and dedication did not allow our comrades to retreat from the fire. They fulfilled their duty by giving their lives for the good of the lives of others. This is an irreplaceable loss for the entire friendly team of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, an irretrievable loss for all loved ones. The profession of a fireman, a rescuer is one of the most respected and dangerous professions in the world. These are people of special honor and duty who come to the profession at the call of the heart.
They go to the end to defeat the fire and minimize the loss. But, unfortunately, do not always return home. These are the heroes of our time. They will forever remain in our hearts and in our soul. This is an irreplaceable loss for all of us. It is impossible to make up for the irretrievable loss, but it is our sacred duty to alleviate grief, support loved ones, help raise and raise children, and provide support to parents and wives.
Recall that on September 22 several fire brigades took part in extinguishing a large fire at one of Moscow’s warehouses. During the fire, the 70 kg of ammonia and the 30 explosion of gas cylinders were prevented from escaping. To assess the situation and develop a fire extinguishing strategy directly at the scene of the incident, EMERCOM employees climbed to the roof of the warehouse. When distributing fire calculations on the roof, it collapsed, which led to the death of firefighters.
From the statement of the ex-deputy head of the North-West Regional Emergency Center Vladimir Kudryavtsev:
To prevent the leakage of ammonia and the explosion of cylinders in a warehouse in the south-east of Moscow, it was only possible to extinguish the fire from the roof. To cover it was necessary to go. In another way it was impossible to extinguish and prevent serious consequences. It was the duty of firefighters. Among the dead firefighters were the most experienced officers, commanders who deliberately went to the roof, as there was no other way to put out the fire, and the roof did not burn at that time. But even experienced people find it difficult to calculate what might happen at what point, especially considering the alteration of the building. That is why the profession of a firefighter is heroic and always involves great risk.
Eight firefighters killed in fire are presented to state awards - the Orders of Courage (posthumously).
"Military Review" expresses condolences to the families and friends of the dead firefighters.
