The Belarusian company “Minotor-Service”, known as the creator of the BRNM 2Т “Stalker”, presented at the “Army-2016” forum the newest multi-purpose floating armored car “Vitim”, reports Messenger of Mordovia.
According to the developers, the armored vehicle "is designed for reconnaissance, escorting and guarding of convoys, it is possible to carry out patrols and fire support of subunits on it." Can also be used as an assault vehicle. On the basis of "Vitim" you can mount various small weapon, missile systems and communications.
“The armored car has a carrying armored body, which provides all-round perimeter protection for the crew against 7,62 mm 57-H-231 AKM bullet at 10 m distance. a flawless explosive device with a mass of 1 kg in TNT equivalent, ”the publication says.
It is also reported that the Vitim has a diesel engine with an 215 horsepower, a mechanical 5-speed transmission, and can reach speeds of up to 125 km / h (speed in water is 5 km / h). Power reserve - 800 km. It can be operated at ambient temperature from -50-ti to + 50 Сº.
