The possible cause of the accident on the military satellite "Meridian" was voiced - the explosion of the engine of the Soyuz rocket
As the source explained, relying on the received telemetric information, it is quite possible to conclude that at the moment of operation of stage No. 3 a sudden and sudden pressure drop occurred in the propulsion system. And, as experts say, the cause is nothing but the explosion of the engine itself.
In addition, the source stressed that the commission has not yet made final conclusions. Other versions of the accident continue to be worked out, however, according to the general opinion of specialists in this field, they are the least likely. Among the alleged options for the accident, consider the explosion of the fuel tank stage number 3 and the engine burnout.
It is known that the dual-purpose satellite "Meridian" was launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome 23 December. And, some time later, Roskosmos reported that due to the failure of the launch vehicle number 3 of the launch vehicle, the said spacecraft failed to reach the calculated orbit, and its fragments scattered throughout the Novosibirsk region. The collapse of the "Meridian" is the latest event in a series of failures that have plagued the Russian space industry all of last year.
In the Horde region, 13 satellite fragments were initially discovered, and about a week ago their total number increased to 16 units. 50-ti centimeter ball pierced the roof of the building, located in the village of Vagaytsevo, on the street Astronauts. Another significant fragment fell on the technical structure, filled with coal, and owned by another villager. The largest objects, such as two tanks for fuel 1,5 meters in size, found hunters far from residential areas in the forest.
It is worth noting that in the Orda region 4-5 of January, allegedly, 3 fragments were found from the fallen Meridian satellite. One piece was found in the local park area, and two others were found within the residential houses: one fell into the courtyard of the apartment building, and the other onto the greenhouse.
According to local residents, on the day of the launch of the crashed satellite they observed several luminous falling objects in the sky, and after a while they all heard a loud bang, as if an explosion, which shook window glass and houses, but no serious damage was recorded.
