Doping officers come to "Khrushchev"

Degree of doping scandals at the current Olympics began to go off scale long before it began and became one of the most discussed at all levels, served as the beginning of the introduction of operational search activities that had never been used in Russia before. However, the Don athletes in the "black" list of the IOC is not.

Mom Meets Doping Officers

In the usual Rostov "Khrushchev" five-story building lives Marina Nikiforova, the athlete's mother in canoeing, who is preparing for the next Olympics in Tokyo in 2020 year.

Their family is a poor, one might say ordinary, Rostov family with its traditional lifestyle. But sports officials, doping controllers who can return to the Nikiforov Khrushchev at any time, can break into this structure. Usually a whole team arrives with the appropriate equipment.

“Once they arrived at the moment when her daughter was not at home, she went to the store,” said her mother Marina. - I urgently called her cell phone, and began a painful wait when Olesya could come. This time seemed to me not an hour - an eternity. I was very nervous, because the officials could turn and leave at any moment, and that means only one thing: the girl will not be allowed to take part in further competitions. Years of training go down the drain. That's what I thought, waiting for my daughter. Greatly worried on this basis. I think I had a stroke from this nervous strain. So I was sick of everything that happened. It seemed at first glance, nothing terrible, sit, wait. But who knows? They will get up and leave at any time. After all, they act on strict instructions, to violate which is contraindicated and punished. In the sport indulgences do not do to anyone. Our children become a kind of sports army, they receive military ranks (this is for real) and all their work in this field is equated in the service in the Russian army.

Olesya Nikiforova’s family has been confronted with doping control officers many times in life. And each time such visits, especially out-of-competition, are perceived as a kind of invasion of their lives. But without this it is impossible. So today put in the sport. In order to climb the highest lines of the pedestal, today we need to go through numerous procedures with the purpose of only one thing - to catch and reveal.

Security Question

Doping officers do not have uniforms, they come in ordinary civilian clothes and are no different from ordinary people.

Doping officers never warn about their visit. Usually, doping officers come in two to three people with the appropriate equipment. As a rule, such a delegation includes men and women. Since every time completely strangers come into the house, they introduce themselves to the athlete's family and the athlete themselves and show their special certificate, which indicates his position, the duration of the document, the organization that issued it.

Dope officers have a file with photos of athletes. They verify data on it during their visits.

The second stage of the test: the athlete is asked a control question, as in intelligence at the meeting of residents.

Sampling at home from an athlete occurs immediately. If the athlete refused, it will automatically be evaluated as a positive test and suspension from the competition.

After taking the sample material, a protocol is signed. At first, the subject is signed, and then by the doping officers.

Competitive tests take place, of course, in the course of competitions, and Olesya Nikifrova’s parents, like all other parents of athletes, are practically unaware of them.

Exclude yourself from the sport can not be

Home athletes can at any time to check for doping control. They do not belong to themselves and promptly report all their movements. They can not put themselves at risk of expulsion from the national team - in fact, almost all their lives are given to the sport.

The four-year-old Olesya was given to her parents at an Olympic reserve school located in the Chkalovsky district. This boarding school was her second home. Olesya Nikiforova spent days on end in the training room when her peers were still in the sandbox.

The parents worked at the plant, they did not have the opportunity every day to carry and bring the girl to the Olympic school for several kilometers: the sports school is located on the outskirts of the city, and the parents live in the center, on Pogodin Street. Natasha won her first victory at the age of five. And the day before she argued with her father that she would win the competition.

The Children's and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve No. 2 became for Olesya the second home, where she had been doing gymnastics for six years, but after being injured, she was forced to look for another sport for herself. She liked the canoe the most.

According to the results of the qualifying competition, Olesya did not make it to the Olympics in Rio. Now she is preparing for the next Olympiad, speaking alone or in pairs in a canoe.

Olesya Nikiforova is now the hero of the “second plan”: she then appears on the first steps of the pedestal, then occupies second or third places. But little by little the girl goes to her cherished dream - to get to the next Olympic Games. Especially since the women's canoe, which has become an Olympic sport since 1938, is now given priority right in comparison with the men's canoe, which will no longer be available in the next Olympiad.

The potential of the athlete is. At the first international competitions in 2013, in Poland, the crew of Olesya and Anastasia Skalozub took third place in the European Championship.

In 2014, in Krasnodar, Olesya took the second place by canoe on the 200 distance during the first round of the selection to the World and European Championships 2015 of the year and joined the Russian team. Participating in the European Championship for the next year, 2015, in the Czech Republic (Radice town), Olesya won bronze at the 500 distance of meters with her friend Irina Andreeva in a canoe double, losing to Belarusian oarsmen for more than five seconds.

Americans first fell for doping

The appearance of doping was first recorded in 1903 year and was not associated with sporting events. Strange as it may sound today, but for the first time American horse breeders, who injected the exciting elixir injected into the horses before the competition, fell for it. It was in America that the first doping scandal broke out, which was widely publicized in society: rider Frank Starr was caught red-handed while trying to give his horse a doping elixir. Honest horse breeders immediately betrayed this case of incorrect sports behavior to wide publicity. After all, doping killed a horse almost instantly - after taking the elixir, it could only live for several months, and this threatened the entire industry.

Thanks to these irreconcilable steps, the use of doping at horse races was stopped, but sports functionaries became interested in the results of the impact on the body.

Search and investigation

The first cases of doping were detected in the 1960 year only by chance: in strong heat, two bicyclists from Denmark fell unconscious, one of them, Knud Jensen, died. The second fatal case occurred with the Englishman Tom Simpson.

Initially, the investigation of these sudden deaths did not produce any results, the public was lost in conjectures. And only years later, the truth still broke through: an unknown substance was found in the blood of athletes that possesses a very exciting property.

Russian athletes at this time in such crimes have never been caught.

Also widely known are the striking transformations of athletes from women to men. A textbook example is the German athlete Heidi Krieger, who has taken doping preparations since 16 for years and was forced to change sex, becoming a man Andreas Krieger. In Germany, there is even a compensation law providing for a lump sum payment in the amount of 10 500 stamps to victims of forced doping. The famous German figure skater Katharina Witt, famous in 80, does not have a family, and many experts attribute her condition to the aggravated male character traits resulting from the use of hormonal and steroid drugs, which were stuffed by German athletes as vitamin pills.

Today there is a wide list of prohibited drugs. When buying a medicine, an athlete should carefully study the composition of the medicinal mixture. In case of detection of doping, you can get a disqualification for two or four years, depending on the severity and circumstances of the violation of the rules of doping control established by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

The first high-profile scandals with the use of doping agents in Russia began to happen from the 2010 year. The most popular drug, meldonium, has become known. It was his and other means of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation that proposed to equate to narcotic drugs, and the President of the Russian Federation already instructed in the middle of 2016 to develop appropriate amendments to the legislation concerning the tightening of operational search measures in investigating cases of doping. This will be done by deputies of the seventh convocation.

Do not bypass the doping scandal party and canoe. In connection with the report of the independent commission of the World Anti-Doping Agency, two athletes were excluded from the Russian national team - Elena Anyushina, Natalia Podolskaya. In preparation for the competition, it became known that the place at the start, which was occupied by the crew of Elena Anyushina and Kira Stepanova (together they were to perform in a two-seater at a distance of 500 m together) was replaced by an Austrian duet. In this decision, they categorically disagreed with the All-Russian Kayaking and Canoeing Federation - it was decided to defend the honor of Russian rowers and file a lawsuit with the Sports Arbitration Court after the Olympic Games.

Voroshilov "chemistry" did not drink

Alexander Nikolaevich Voroshilov remembers well how the summer Olympic Games were held in Tokyo in the summer of the distant 1964, in which two weightlifters from the Rostov region became champions. Their achievements inspired the young Sasha Voroshilov, then the usual Rostov schoolboy. In addition, he, like all boys, just wanted to be strong. Therefore, with the start of the new school year, Sasha came to the weightlifting section at the Rostselmash plant. At that time there were no sections on the bar for underage athletes. He turned out to be the only schoolboy among adults, but the coach gladly became involved with him.

First of all, emphasis was placed on general physical training, gymnastics, jumping, running. Then we went strength training. Successes were not long in coming. In 1964, Sasha Voroshilov took the second place among the featherweight in the classification competitions of the Council of Unions of sports societies and organizations of the Rostov region. In 1965, he became the champion of the regional trade union regional committee, in 1966, he took second place in the regional junior competitions.

As an athlete, regularly showing high results, Voroshilov was called to serve in a sports company. During the service, he repeatedly participated in weightlifting competitions of the Baku Air Defense District, and then of the North Caucasus Military District, in which he won and occupied high places. However, for the first time in sports sport, Alexander encountered the use of sports “chemistry”: “I remember that doctors who came to responsible competitions were visited by doctors and were given some kind of pills. For myself, I decided that health is more important than immediate results and that for me this path is unacceptable, ”Voroshilov recalls.

After the army, Alexander Voroshilov, working at the plant, continued to perform at weightlifting tournaments from the Trud volunteer sport. In 1976, he entered Rostov Institute of Pedagogical Institute, where he continued training and performing for the university team.

With age, Alexander Nikolayevich combined active exercises with barbells and weights, but the charge of physical health obtained in his youth helped him soon in the course of work to eliminate the consequences of the explosion at the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

“Sport rescued me in a difficult moment,” emphasizes Voroshilov. - Thanks to my physical training, I survived, although I was in Chernobyl on the team of “suicide bombers”, I experienced radiation sickness “on my feet” On the eve of the 30 anniversary of the Chernobyl accident, Alexander Nikolayevich participated with other Chernobyl victims in meetings with students in many schools in the district. Communicating with the guys, he focused on his sports activities, which helped him to survive an extreme situation, to continue an active social life. At the same time, in order not to be unfounded, he showed the schoolchildren and their teachers their numerous badges, medals, diplomas and diplomas obtained in due time for achievements in sports and physical education.

“Thanks to participation in competitions, I was able to visit many cities of the Soviet Union and our region,” notes Alexander Nikolaevich. “At the same time, classes in the section, trips, meals at competitions, sports uniform were free for all athletes. All this was an additional incentive to practice. The state was interested in bringing up a healthy young generation. I wanted young athletes to receive the same state support these days. I was accustomed to sports by a healthy lifestyle: the regime, diet and rejection of bad habits, instilled a sense of collectivism, helped develop organizational skills. And yet, our front-line coaches both on Rostselmash and in the army instilled in us moral values, a commitment to fair sporting wrestling. I also always tried to convey these qualities to my students.

The doping control system raises questions. I am wondering how many times athletes from different countries are tested by doping officers? Is there some kind of algorithm that is mandatory for everyone? Or are there more similar ones? Take Cameroon. I do not consider them more "the same" or the first among equals, but according to my conservative data, the number of doping samples taken from runners from Cameroon during the preparation and off-season is extremely small. They cannot even be placed next to the number of samples from European and American countries. And nothing. And in the USA? I wonder why athletes training in the USA are a priori clean ?!
Do you look at the Williams brothers ??? And to the same Sharapova.

Today I looked at the fights without rules and I was pricked by such a thought, are athletes being tested for HIV infection and are they allowed to compete in those sports where there is a great danger of being infected by hard contact? And how does the excommunication process, if any, exist.
By the way, if someone did not know, then this information is strictly classified and even the doctors at the reception do not know if their visitor is sick or not. Paradox carriers of the hepatitis virus have a code in the medical record, but this contingent is not. So the doctor works at your own peril and risk.

China is the largest manufacturer of drugs related to doping and it is hard to believe that Chinese athletes are not developing their own gold mine. They got to the bottom of meldonium only because he was born in Russia, but meanwhile "Mildronate has no direct analogs, there are substances that are attributed to properties similar to those of meldonium. For example, levocarnitine (or L-carnitine - Matchtv.ru). Preparations based on it are very common, including in the West. Carnitine, carnosine, carnitor. There are a lot of them. Also, say, beta-alanine and its derivatives. And in the literature, by the way, there is a lot of information that they are just stimulants and increase power and endurance.

Athletes are also people, they may have problems due to overload. Need a list of approved drugs to treat health. Then any unknown chemical substance can be identified as prohibited.
In fact, Western pharmaceuticals is constantly inventing new doping formulas. After entering the forbidden list, a new formula is invented, and so on ad infinitum.
That is why you need a list of approved drugs for treatment.

In our hostel on Sokol (maybe some people know the Baltic lane in the city of Moscow) one friend literally almost prayed for Katharina Witt. I pasted over the entire wall with posters from GDR magazines such as Fur Dich, I even found a nude photo shoot with bare breasts. He dreamed of "marrying someone like Katyukha." laughing good

It is necessary to check for doping immediately after the competition the top ten winners regardless of the country, and not just athletes from Russia. And that during the doping test there would be representatives from all ten at least. This idea can still be thought out, developed and supplemented for transparency. Or let the intelligence work, otherwise we are too behind in sports medicine (twenty years). Very much their athletes are similar to men.

Is doping good or bad? So, of course - bad. So did they take our dope or not? Well, if the tests showed, then they accepted it. All or not all? Not all of course, but someone probably did not get caught in this case. So what, then all this bazaar-station ???? Yes, all these bad people from across the hill, of course, were biased towards our athletes, well, of course - of course, all this is an obvious order! BUT they did. So why then yell, but let's check everyone - they also accept everything. That would not catch on doping - do not take it. There is no need to hope for medals without the investment of labor. It turns out like this - drank a magic pill - rocked at the gym level - you can claim a prize in the Olympics! And where is the daily exhausting and exhausting work ????? Maybe something is wrong with our athletes and the people who organize them ???? Some kind of childish excuses - "... everyone accepts and we accept, they just caught us and they turned out to be more cunning .." And finally, well, if you can't already train without chemistry, well, at least then develop something more decently like the Chinese, and not envy them.

Pauline, thanks for the article. In my opinion, the final paragraph:
